STATOR TECHNOLOGY - MAIN CHARACTERISTICS OF THE MANUFACTURING PROCESS

The minimum Y in the conventional manufacturing process of the stator is approximately 1,4 mm (is physically impossible to insert the cooper wires in a slot opening, Y, smaller than 1,4 mm). The idea we are developing, is the stamping of the slot opening, Y, with 0,5 mm, assemble the lamination pack, open the Y to aproximately 2,1 mm to allow the insertion of the copper wires and close it again to 0,5 mm.

The Macro-flow chart above allows us to show what are the operations in development for the manufacturing of the stator with minimal Y. The idea is open the Y only to allow insertion of the copper wires. After closing, we intend to increase the efficiency by increasing the area of steel and the magnetic flux between rotor and stator.
